Athletics Wing & Playing Fields, Mount Saint Joesph Academy | Flourtown, PA
Completed in 1960, the original school building and neighboring convent were designed by Nolen & Swinburne Architects. Steps were taken to improve the athletic facilities beginning with a modernization of the mechanical systems for the gymnasium. An addition to the athletic center enhanced the facility through a new locker room ringed by windows at eye level for privacy, light wood cubbies spaced to allow for ample changing and aisle space, a health classroom, a fitness center with a view of athletic fields, and a training room with a whirlpool tub. As an extension of the project, new softball and lacrosse fields were created along with an Olympic caliber track and viewing stands.
