Athletics Wing & Playing Fields, Mount Saint Joesph Academy | Flourtown, PA
Situated on 47 acres of rolling meadow and fields, Mount Saint Joseph Academy girls’ high school. Completed in 1960, the original school building and neighboring convent were designed by Nolen & Swinburne Architects. Steps were taken to start improving the athletic facilities including the modernization of mechanical systems for gymnasium. The result of these efforts was the Athletic Addition including: a new locker room ringed by windows at eye level for privacy, light wood cubbies spaced to allow for ample changing and aisle space, a health classroom, a fitness center with a view of athletic fields, and a training room with whirlpool tub. As an extension of the project, new softball and lacrosse fields were created along with an Olympic caliber track and viewing stands.
