Joe's Cafe, The Wharton School | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Joe’s Café is the university’s first LEED for Commercial Interiors Gold certified project. Designed to encourage student engagement, the renovated space provides a large kitchen with an adjacent servery which can be secured when not in operation permitting the seating area to remain open during the off hours. Wi-Fi and large screen TV’s combine with the cafe’s multiple levels of seating to accommodate independent study, small group collaboration, and relaxation. Two new entries connect the café to outdoor seating in the adjacent courtyard and trellis covered patio. A three story addition provides new office and conference spaces, and renovations have resulted in a more efficient reprographics center, public restrooms, and vending area.
