Academic Building Renovations, University of Pennsylvania Law School | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Collegiality is a core strength of Penn Law’s program and was at the heart of this comprehensive renovation. Lecture halls were renovated to promote interaction among students and faculty, fundamental to the Socratic method of teaching, a cornerstone of the law program. Seminar rooms offer flexible seating in technology rich environments, connecting students and experts from around the world. Corridors were reconfigured to provide impromptu spaces for group and individual study and lower level spaces were renovated to more effectively support the legal writing center, law clinic, and student activities. Even the library was refurnished and reconfigured to provide informal seating areas and additional surface area for study. Throughout the law school, students and faculty are visibly engaged, connected, and excelling in their pursuits of learning, analyzing, and teaching the law.
