Joe's Cafe, The Wharton School | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The café, housed in Steinberg Hall-Dietrich Hall, supports collegiality and creates a spacious atmosphere with 18 foot high ceilings, full height windows, and doors that open out onto newly created outdoor seating areas. In addition to daily use by students and faculty, this self-contained area is also used for receptions and private dinner parties. A steel trellis with limestone clad columns extends the exterior garden pavilion, providing shade for the interior space and the intimate outdoor rooms for summer dining. A new three story addition provides offices, conference spaces, a more efficient and reconfigured reprographics center, a new office suite, public restrooms, a vending area, and two new entries.
