Noyes House, Vassar College | Poughkeepsie, New York
Designed by Eero Saarinen, the distinctive appearance of Noyes House comes from its circular shape and chevron-shaped windows. Still, retaining much of its original appearance and materials, it was facing increasing locations of leaks at roof and window components. Desiring to retain as much original material as possible, a program for repairing damaged window elements was developed, including hinge replacement, replacement of operator mechanisms, and new weatherstripping where necessary. At the roof, a revised parapet cap provided additional flashing protection to protect leaking corner elements while retaining its original profile.
