Sennah L. Loftus

Associate Principal

Sennah Loftus, LEED AP BD+C, is an expert in managing projects for educational institutions from planning through design, including for such clients as the University of Pennsylvania, Lehigh University, Rutgers University, and independent schools like Millbrook School and The Gunnery. Her experience also includes some of the firm’s hospitality and religious projects.

Sennah has been with VMA since 2000. Her underlying interest in detail and materials has translated into being an indispensable leader of VMA’S Interior Design Studio in addition to her firm leadership in architectural design.  She holds a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University School of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College, where she frequently returns as a studio juror.

Sennah is an innovator, always looking for “both/and” solutions, and she particularly excels at integrating high-performance technology into advanced teaching spaces. She designed the first fully immersive classrooms at Rutgers University, as well as subsequent phases, and is currently working with the University of Pennsylvania in the design of the new Biotech Commons. She is also leading the team designing a new building to expand Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics, which will house numerous tech-rich environments.

An athlete since very early on in life, Sennah has a healthy dose of a competitiveness in her nature. She is the star second baseman for the VMA softball team and is always willing to join in for a pick-up game of basketball. She swam for both her high school and her college and still enjoys swimming laps. Sennah and her family are inveterate travelers and consistently visit new places, drawing inspiration from examples of the built environment.
