Architect

Alison Kass, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, joined VMA in early 2021 after working on mixed-use projects and single-family residences in New York. She graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University with a Master of Architecture and a minor in Urban Studies, where she built a house from the foundation up as part of a public service-driven semester-long project during college.

Alison’s hands-on experience understanding how buildings are put together has led her to become a particular expert at complex renovations. When we developed our Sustainability Action Plan as part of our acceptance of the AIA 2030 Commitment, Alison led the committee responsible for evaluating our in-house practices & operations and helped develop metrics to improve our ecological impact. She is currently part of a VMA-led team that is volunteering with the Center for Architecture + Design Architecture Design Education (ADE) program which brings multi-disciplinary design education to students of all ages throughout the city.

An enthusiastic athlete, Alison is a member of the VMA softball team, which participates in a local industry league, and regularly participates in local running events like the Broad Street Run.
