Kate Schnitker
Designer
Kate Schnitker joined VMA in August 2026 after earning her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame, where she concentrated in Historic Preservation. Her interest in preservation began early while volunteering as a docent at Casa Feliz, a historic home designed by James Gambe Rogers II in her hometown of Winter Park, Florida. The experience sparked her appreciation for historic architecture and influenced her decision to pursue a career in design.
Kate enjoys numerous creative pursuits outside of work. She loves reading and has recently spent more time writing, along with painting.
Growing up with two parents who are teachers, Kate spent many summers traveling with her family to Colorado, where she developed a love for hiking and exploring the outdoors. She continues to carry that sense of curiosity and connection to place into her work and everyday life.
