Historic Preservation Specialist
Katrina Virbitsky joined VMA after working as a building conservator for the National Park Service. She attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, where she received a Planning and Preservation Master of Science in Conservation in Historic Preservation, and Temple University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History with a Minor in German Language. Katrina serves as the secretary for the Association for Preservation Technology International (APT) Technical Committee for Sustainable Preservation (TC-SP) and is also involved in APT’s Online Sustainable Assistance Resource (OSCAR) Focus Group. In addition to her volunteer work, Katrina spends time beekeeping, reading and exchanging books within her book club, visiting archives and local bookstores, and researching ancestry.
