2116 Chestnut Street
John Buck Company | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Developed as a luxury rental property for young professionals, this 34-story residential tower references contemporary international urban architecture without overpowering the existing neighborhood fabric. The tower steps back from the base at the fifth floor, enabling an outdoor rooftop terrace with a garden, a bar, a dedicated sunning space, and a hot tub. The views from the workout and clubroom areas situated on the fifth floor give the impression of a green oasis surrounded by the spectacular city skyline beyond. VMA was retained to develop the design, detailing, and furnishings for the entrance lobby, elevator lobbies, and resident amenity spaces: the clubroom, party room, TV/movie lounge, business center, workout and yoga/fitness rooms.
