2401 Walnut Street Studio
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Housed in a 1920’s building in Philadelphia that was almost completely gutted, this contemporary office space was renovated to take full advantage of ample daylight and vistas of the Schuylkill River and Center City Philadelphia. Careful organization allows for dispersed leadership, a hierarchy of meeting places, informal collaboration spaces, and a “home-like” kitchen and library while maintaining perimeter circulation affording equality of access to views for all employees. The open floor plan creates transparency and is counterbalanced by acoustical wall and ceiling paneling. Other areas include the model shop, the interiors library and meeting pods. Desks are strategically kept away from windows to allow circulation and an overall flow within the office. The light-filled office meets practical quotidian needs and showcases its amazing panorama to visiting clients and guests.
