Business Innovation Building
Lehigh University College of Business | Bethlehem, PA
The new Business Innovation Building enables Lehigh’s College of Business to prepare students for real-world exchange and collaboration. Built on a former parking lot, the building houses a diverse array of learning environments, many tailored to suit particular programs, in addition to breakout spaces, faculty offices, and conference rooms. The building is slated to be LEED Gold certified.
Classrooms feature advanced AV systems and many feature flexible furniture that can be reconfigured for different class types. One “in the round” lecture hall is designed to seat students in a full circle, with a podium-less space in the center intended for town hall-style presentations with four LED arrays above. Specialized learning environments include a marketing research suite; a financial services lab with Bloomberg terminals; and the Lehigh Ventures Lab, a business incubator for student entrepreneurs. A multitude of breakout rooms, varied in their size and configuration, are distributed throughout the building to support studying and groupwork. The Vistex Institute for Executive Education, a signature program, now has a dedicated home with its own lobby & event space, social lounge, and classrooms, all designed in a more corporate aesthetic.
