Phased Guestroom Renovations
The Yale Club of New York City | New York, New York
Originally designed by James Gamble Rogers, the Yale Club of New York sought to update its interiors and convey a sense of a sophisticated club while paying special attention to the needs of women and younger guests.
Our partnership, which included collaboration with interior designer Eve Ashcraft, largely focused on the ten guest room floors that support overnight guests. Much of what Yale sought we achieved by reworking bathrooms and suite configurations and updating finishes and furniture.
Hallways were upgraded throughout with new wall covering, custom carpeting, and complete replacement of all doors which now feature raised panels in walnut. The scope brought the interior up to modern standards for fire safety, temperature control, and ADA compliance. The color palette throughout draws heavily on “Yale blue,” balanced with neutrals and frequent use of the Yale logo. Fun details include a depiction of a bulldog, Yale’s mascot, dressed in top hat and tails on the guestroom bolster pillow. There is even club branding on the doorknobs.
Interior Design completed in association with Executive Interiors.
